How are you?” He asked her.
“Alive.” She replied with a smile and left, hiding tears in the corner of her eyes. He too turned around and started walking towards opposite direction with wet eyes.
It was an encounter between two estranged couple for a second who was madly in love.
Misunderstanding cropped up and two parted ways that they never tried to resolve.
Ego won, Love lost.. two hearts that still love each other distanced forever.

She was raised by her step mother since she was a toddler as her mother left her with dad and married another person. Her father remarried. She and her step mom always had an different opinion on every topic and that was a reason for not so great relationship between the two.

Today was her 18th birthday. She decided to celebrate with her high school friends at pub. Her step mom suggested to invite her friends at home and everyone can have a joint celebration with pool theme party. She hugged her mom, smiled and thought it will be convinient, agreed and left home for school. Her mom smiled and thought.. It’s a perfect time to implement the plan and change everything forever.

The place was perfectly decorated the way she would love and her friends loved the theme. Everyone was enjoying, dancing and then one scream changed the scene. She and her dad came running inside and saw her step mom was lying in a pool of blood with slashed neck. She ran towards her mom’s lifeless body and cried while her dad was staring in shock.

Police came at the spot and started interrogation. She was silent, still and shocked with the incident. Her friends took her to her room. She asked everyone to leave, shut the door and cried aloud sitting on the floor.

Few minutes later, she got up and stood in front of the mirror, wiped her tears, took off her big locket with a razor edges and removed a small hidden knife from one of the edges and smiled wickedly.

She jumped on her bed happily as everything went as per planned. She felt something under the pillow. There was a small giftbox perfectly tied with a beautiful ribbon and small note on it read, ‘Happy Birthday Princess, from your mom.’ She opened the box. Inside was a car key with another note.. Your favourite car waiting for you in the garrage.. I hope now we will not argue and be more like friends as you are Eighteen now.’

Her smile replaced by tears.
