In To The Woods. Thursday Photo Prompt.

knock

While exploring the woods I lost my way. Between the tall trees, I saw a lone old house. I started walking towards the house, but didnt felt safe to knock the horned devil knocker. Left with no choice i had to go ahead as it was getting dark. Little scared I reluctantly knocked the door twice and heard footsteps from inside. The beautiful young lady opened the door. I was relieved and surprised to see her. I told her my problem and she allowed me to come inside. The house was beautifully decorated by antique pieces. She bought coffee and asked me to be comfortable. She told me that she doesn’t feel insecure or scared staying alone in the house in the forest as this was their ancestral house and since her birth living here. I love her warmth, ever smiling beautiful face and helping nature. I was happy that I knocked the door rather than roaming in the jungle whole night finding a way out. She prepared delicious dinner and while having dinner she said she rarely has any guest to her place, mostly only wanderers that lost their way like me and today she was happy that She got my company rather than being alone. We had a chat for few more hours, she told me the way out with directions and then arranged a guest room for me to sleep.

At morning on my side table coffee and breakfast was ready with a thank you note. I had a breakfast and got ready to continue my walk. When I came out she was no where. I wanted to thank her for everything but couldnt find her. I took her thank you note and started walking on the way she had guided me earlier night. Few minutes later I was out of the woods.

I asked locals about the lone house in the woods and they told me its unoccupied from last fifty to sixty years and its haunted. Many locals seen a lady in the house. The proof is, even if  no ventures there, still that house seems clean, arranged neatly and it doesnt look unoccupied.

I couldn’t believe that whole night I was with the ghost. The ghost of the lady helped me to come out of the woods, gave shelter in her house whole night and the thank you note. Now I understood why I can’t met her in the morning. She changed my view on ghost. Not every ghosts wants to hurt you, some exists to protect you, help you and sometimes brings you out from the bad situation. I smiled and continued my walk towards my hotel room.

The trip gave me a different and may be Once In A Lifetime Experience.
